Appropriate monitoring and surveillance programmes are part of any sound programme of OTA prevention and reduction. Analytical capacity and capability required to support national programmes for prevention and control of OTA-contamination of coffee have been improved at the national level. Here, project staff from Côte d'Ivoire get hands on experience of OTA analysis during a training course in Kenya run by staff from the Laboratório de Controle de Qualidade de Segurança Alimentar (LACQSA), Brazil.
