International bulk shipping of coffee in containers is becoming increasingly popular. Transportation generally takes place between tropical countries of origin and temperate destination countries. The potential risk of fluctuations of temperature and humidity within the container whilst in transit has been examined under the project. Here, a data logger is attached to the outside of the container liner before the doors are sealed to recorded relative humidity and temperature at regular intervals between loading Kampala and unloading in Rotterdam.
